| The Winneshiek
County SAFE coalition was formed in 2000 to address concerns related to
substance use in Winneshiek County, continues to meet on a regular
basis. The coalition’s mission is “to mobilize the people of the
county to address the county’s concerns and needs with respect to
substance use and other threats to a healthy community.”
By helping the youth in our
community understand the risks and consequences associated with underage
drinking and drugs, the coalition strives to help them make wise choices
regarding substance use. Keeping adults informed about substance use,
the risks involved and the social consequences of substance abuse is one
way the coalition serves the community. |
